HELP! Accidentally put in a line (by putting 3 dashes after my paragraph)...and now i can't delete it.?

When i put in the 3 dashes...a line 'magically' appeared...and nothing i try, deletes. I am using Microsoft Word. PLEASE - obviously, I need a computer geek's help on this one!
