Does anyone have words that they absolutely can't stand - I don't mean naughty ones, just...?

I live in California, (a native). Yesterday I heard a woman refer to San Francisco as " 'Frisco " . It was all I could do to not punch her. This is not a real word, (except if you live in Frisco, Texas) but just an ignorant bastardization of a city name. I have never lived in S.F., but I have lived all over the country, and have learned to respect where I am, and use the proper names, just like I would use your name properly when speaking to or about you.
